Movie Review of "Eye See You"

I won't go into detail, but my wife had a pretty bad day the other day and, mostly because she was angry at some people, she was in the mood for a good action movie with lots of people getting gunned down. Since it was getting late and I didn't really have time to look for anything else, we ended up settling for the movie Eye See You (also called D-Tox ).

This movie has been in our Netflix instant watch queue for a while now and, other than the fact it stars Sylvester Stallone , we really didn't know a whole lot about it. As it turns out, it was a pretty decent film.

We watched this movie on a free new website 123 movies.

Stallone stars as an FBI agent who turns to alcohol after the cop-killing serial killer he is tracking goes to his house and murders his fiancee. After he tries to kill himself, he is sent to a remote rehabilitation clinic designed specifically for law enforcement but, shortly after arrival and after getting trapped by a blizzard, he discovers the serial killer is there too.

Even though some parts of the film were a bit predictable, the thing I liked about this movie is there was a good mix of action and mystery. You know the bad guy is there. But, the movie does a good job of keeping who he is a secret until the very end. This creates some suspense because, other than Stallone's character (and I didn't rule out the possibility of a split personality twist), you don't know if the person carrying a gun is one of the good guys or the guy they are after.

My only real complaint about this movie is the lack of background given about the serial killer. All we are really told about him is he started killing police officers because they were making it impossible for him to kill prostitutes. But, the movie never really gives us any other information about why he wants to kill in the first place. Is it a religious thing? Was he abused as a child? What was behind his obsession with eyes? Things like that give a character a bit more depth and there was room to add to his history a bit.

Overall, however, I do think this movie was a film worth watching. It didn't have quite as much action as other action movies. But, it was entertaining enough to keep my interest. If you haven't see it, it's worth taking the time to watch it.

My Grade: 4 stars out of a possible 5.
